Post: Dear Little Girl

There’s a little girl,
Sitting there,
Curled up in a ball,
Her face hiding behind her hair,
There she is,
So sad and lonely,
In this big world,
She’s the one and only,
Sounds of laughter
Reach her ears,
It’s her family,
They’re what she fears,
She can’t tell them
What is wrong,
She can’t tell anyone,
She has to be strong,
She thinks she’s grown up,
And no-one understands,
She doesn’t have anyone,
To hold her little hands.
Don’t give up now, little girl,
Please, don’t fret,
You have so much to learn,
You’re not dead yet,
One day you’ll realise,
What a fool you’ve been,
And from there,
Your life will begin,
So hold on tight,
And don’t let go,
Because I was like you,
A long time ago.
