Post: DS (lite): System Review

When i first brought my DS, i had a choice between that and the Playstation competition in the form of the PSP. I had heard good things about the PSP, however the DS was still pretty new at the time.

Im glad that i decided against the PSP, although it looks great fun, i am more that happy with my DS (lite). Below are some things that make the DS great:

  • Very light
  • Dual Screens
  • Built in WIFI
  • Can also play all your favourite Game Boy Advance games on the DS.
  • 4 different brightness settings
  • Charges in around 2-3 hours and comes with 5 to 18 hours battery life (depending on the brightness setting used)
  • Much more interactive than the likes of the PSP (Great for family/friendly competitions)

Like the Nintendo systems before hand, the DS has all the classic titles such as Mario, Donkey Kong etc, it also has a few new faces. The other great thing about the DS is that it has some great educational software games that are great for teaching yourself or learning the little one about new things.

If you a fan of the classics such as Super Mario, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong or Bomberman, you’ll love being able to challenge your friends too. You also like being able to test your brain strength by competiting in games such as brain training.

The DS (lite) is probably one of my best buys in recent years and unlike my IPOD, i am very satisfied with the DS. The games are a bit on the expensive side (new games are around £30 a pop) (however PSP games aint cheap either). Ive dropped it a few times, it gets chucked around in my bag, and i dont take any special care of it and it is still working in perfect condition!

If you bored, looking for entertainment (its great for long bus/train journeys) and have a £100 spare (can get it cheaper from some places) i would recommend the DS.
