Death is such a strange word
Does it mean the end of a life?
Or the start of a new beginning?
As I watched my grandfather drift away slowly
I wanted so badly to see something
Something to make me believe
That he will soon be in a new life
Sipping coffee, fishing in heaven
Anything, so that he could be in peace
He suffered, and he was in pain
But all I could see was death
Now he is gone
And I wonder
Where is he now?
Did his life end?
Or is he in a new beginning?

I'm in my final year of high school now and last week I lost two of my very close friends and classmates. I'm in the middle of trial exams and have had to attend two funerals in between all that.
They were in a car accident and the girl died on impact and the guy a week later in i.c.u both with severe head trauma. This is the 5th matriculant(our term for student in final year) that I've known who has passed away in the last 2 years and all from car accidents. It's traumatic for all and especially sad because it's just before their lives are about to begin and take-off. I myself was in a car accident last year with my boyfriend. I was fine but he suffered from severe head injuries which affected his occipital lobe and he is now blind. He studied architecture and cannot practice anymore. It seems to be a issue that is getting worse and worse in our modern society. I just want to send out a warning to seniors and parents of seniors - be careful! It seems to be prodominant at our age and it can happen to you at any stage. I thought it would never happen to me and it did. The hardet time in my life.

Oh and in response to your blog. I would also love to think that there is life after death but to me there is no sense in all this. Why them and why so young? There is no greater scheme or plan and it wasn't just "their time to go", they were in the wrong time at the wrong place and now they are gone forever and that's the tragedy of it all.
