Post: Ghost Girl By Torey Hayden

My latest read from the Torey Hayden is called ‘Ghost Girl‘.

Synopsis
This is a stunning and poignant account of an extraordinary teacher’s determination from the author of the No. 1 “Sunday Times” bestsellers “The Tiger’s Child” and “One Child”. Jadie never spoke, never laughed, never cried. She spent every waking hour locked in her own private world of shadows. But nothing in Torey Hayden’s experience had prepared her for the nightmare Jadie revealed to her when finally persuaded to break her self-imposed silence. It was a story too painful, too horrific for Hayden’s professional colleagues to acknowledge. But Torey Hayden could not close her ears or her heart. A little girl was trapped in a living hell of unspeakable memories. And it would take every ounce of courage, compassion, and love that one remarkable teacher possessed to rid the “Ghost Girl” of the malevolent spirits that haunted her.

Can Torey once again beat all odds and help save this little girl, who she first thinks is just an elective mute? Within hours Torey gets this young girl talking, but with that action comes a lot of effect, has Torey just opened Pandora’s box on this little girls life? Is she prepared for the story that she has to tell, and most importantly does she believe her?

The stories that this girl comes out with are so far fetched that Torey begins to believe that it is ritual abuse behind this girls problems, even if thats the case, Torey is considered ‘Crazy’ just for thinking it.

Who or what is behind all this? (the whole truth was never found out). Will Torey save her in time? (well the last 2 words before the girl leaving were ‘Thank You’ so you decide). Is it going to be another ‘happy ever after’ stories? (hmmm depends how you look at it, the girl(s) were saved from any further danger, no real justice on this case was ever done and the emotional pain of this case still affects Torey)

Its a great read, and its emotional!!
