Wordpress 2.5 is due to be released in the near future (was due to be released yesterday but was delayed), the question you all need to be asking yourself is, is your current blog compatible with the new upgrade?

Here are some things your gonna need to check,

Compatibility - The wordpress codex has a section where you can check what plugins and themes are compatible with what version of wordpress (however not every plugin has been tested). If you are unsure if your plugin will work, i would recommend creating a dummy install of wordpress that you can use to test plugin on or install wordpress locally.
Migrating Plugins - If you plugin is not compatible with wordpress 2.5 (or you think it will break once you upgrade), you could find this article helpful, it shows you how to migrate your plugins and stuff.
Check For Updates - Just because the plugin you use has broken once you updated, before you start swearing at the screen check the plugin authors homepage and check it for any updates.
Back Up EVERYTHING!! - Make a secure copy of all your files and folders, that includes core wordpress files, themes, plugins and your database before you upgrade anything, that way, if all goes wrong you can always revert back. If you dont know how to back up your files heres how.

Remember there is no need to rush the upgrade, if you are unsure, wait a while, visit the wordpress support forums and see if anyone else is having problems/if they found it easy and see if the plugin author releases any updates to make the upgrade easier.
