Wordpress: Adding Ads To Your Posts

    Ever wanted to display ads or banners between your posts? Ever wondered how everyone else does it? In this tutorial we will show you how.

    Editing The Theme Files

    To display ads between posts (as shown in example picture above) you will need to edit the following files (if you theme has them).

    • index.php (if you want ads displayed on the blogs homepage)
    • archive.php (if you want to display ads on archive/category pages)
    • category.php (not all themes use this file) (to display ads oncategory pages)

    You now need to scroll down until you find (note: the code in your theme may look slightly different);

    Now the next bit is down to personal preference, however i prefer to display ads just below the title, you may prefer to display it somewhere else. As long as it is displayed within the code shown below it will show for every post.

    Upload all the files that you have just modified and voila, you should now have ads displaying between your posts.
